Bridal makeup that still looks like you at midnight

Almost every bride tells me the same thing at her trial: she wants to look like herself, just the best version. So I build bridal looks around your features rather than around a trend, and I build them to last, because a wedding day is a very long day for makeup.

A few looks I’m asked for most often:

• Soft and natural. Skin evened out, brows shaped, a warm neutral eye. Photographs beautifully in daylight and reads as you, not a made-up version of you.
• Classic bridal. A little more definition, a clean liner and a lash. The look most brides picture when they imagine walking down the aisle.
• Soft glam. Deeper shadow, a fuller lash and a sculpted base. Made for evening receptions and for photographers working with heavier lighting.

Your wedding morning, planned backwards

I work backwards from the time your photographer wants you in your dress. Allow around 90 minutes for the bride and about 45 minutes for each additional face, and I map the exact running order once I know your numbers and your ceremony time.

The bride always finishes last. That way your makeup is at its freshest when the photos start, instead of settling for two hours while everyone else gets ready.

Because I come to you, nobody loses the morning driving to a salon and back. I bring professional lighting and the full kit, and set up wherever the light is best, whether that is a family home, a hotel room or a getting-ready suite at your venue.

The trial

A bridal trial is where we get the look right with no clock running. I come to your home so you can see it in your own light, with your veil or hair pieces if you have them, and we adjust until it feels like yours.

Bring photos, and bring your usual foundation if there is a shade you already like. Be honest with me about anything you would never normally wear. It is far easier to soften a liner or change a lip at the trial than on the morning.

Your bridal party

Bridal makeup starts from $180 for the bride, and from $130 each for bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, and anyone else getting ready with you. A small deposit secures your date and comes off the final balance.

For longer receptions I can stay on for touch-ups for an additional fee, and either way I leave you with touch-up powder and lipstick.

If you would like simple hair styling as well, that starts from $50 and I build it into the same run sheet, so your morning stays one booking rather than two suppliers working around each other. I keep hair simple. I don’t do intricate updos, braids or bridal hair design, and I’m happy to recommend a specialist stylist. The full breakdown is in my wedding makeup price list.

Where I travel for bridal makeup

I am based in Windsor and travel across the Hawkesbury for weddings, out through the Hills District, west to Penrith and up into the Blue Mountains. Brides book me regularly in Windsor, Richmond and across the wider Hawkesbury.

Travel within the Hawkesbury and Hills is included. A small fee may apply for the Blue Mountains and other further-out locations, and it is always confirmed in your quote before you book.
